Mom and Clubs

We had heard that there was a mother grizzly with 2 of her last year cubs in the Jackson area.  We went looking for her just north of the Jackson Lake Lodge.
While we were staying in Jackson we had made 4 trips to this area never seeing anything.  Sunday morning before we started home we decided to try one last time.  Guess what we saw. Their she was-just beautiful-with nice big fat cubs.

Heading South to Jackson Hole

Once again we have four days off so we headed
south to Jackson Hole. Nice drive thru Teton
National Park. We went looking for moose and bear but no luck.  There is a bear with four of last year cubs in the area. The Tetons Mts. still have snow on them. They are just beautiful. Spent the night in Jackson and than headed south to Lander, Wy.  It’s suppose to be a neat old western town.

Pictures taken as we drive to Jackson Hole.

Road Trip

The waterfront at Coeur d'Alene

Yellowstone - Coeur d’ Alene, ID-Sandpoint, ID and back to Yellowstone.......
Work is slow so we were lucky to get 4 days off.  Of course we could not sit at home-so off we went to Coeur d’ Alene in the northwest part of the Idaho. It is one of the prettiest parts of ID close to WA state. Beautiful mountains and lakes.
We stopped along the way at Wallace-an old mining town.  Nice downtown area to walk  around.
We got to Coeur d’ Alene in the late afternoon. Had a chance to walk around the beautiful waterfront and have a nice supper in the old part of town.
The next morning we hike Tubbs Hill-a nice trail that overlooks the water front.  We saw 2 osprey’s building a nest.
Later we headed to Sandpoint about an hour north close to Canada. We stayed at the Best Western overlooking Lake Pend Oreille.  We  walk around town and shop at the Coldwater Creek home store (the store was started there). We had a great view from our balcony so we decided  to have wine and snacks while looking at the lake.  Could you ask for a better ending to a great day.

Headed home in the am. Driving on the north side of the lake.  Beautiful drive.
