Trip to Jackson Hole

We only had to work half a day on Weds-which made it nice as we were heading to Jackson Hole for our days off. We had to go the long way-thru West Yellowstone-as the south gate is still not open due to the snow. It took us able 4 hours to get here-as soon as we checked in to our motel we headed out to Moose Juction to get pictures.

We were lucky as we found a bull moose and later a female and her year old calf. We also got some picture of some young male Big Horn Sheep. We than headed to the visitors center. Check out the snow. Time to go to bed as we have a full day ahead of us. More picture taking and than back to Yellowstone and work on Saturday.

This is how you get the snow off the roof at the Old Faithful Snow lodge.

The road to Old Faithful is open

Once again we had two days off. This time we were able to go some place-not like last week. Thursday we went to Bozeman to shop and have lunch. Had a great day-found lots of bargains. Had a nice lunch at a new place.

Friday was the first day that the park roads to Old Faithful Inn and Canyon Lodge havebeen open. Of course NK and I were first in line when they took down the barricade. Off we went to Old Faithful-it was a beautiful ride. The snow was 14’ to 15’ deep in places. It was like driving thru a tunnel. You wouldn’t believe all the snow. It was up to the roofs in some places.

We were surprise to find that the visitors center and the Grill were open. We were able to have a nice hot lunch instead of the brown bag lunch we had brought with us.

After lots of pictures we headed of to Canyon and the lower falls. More snow. The falls were beautiful. We had a great two days off. Have to be to work at 10.

Day's Off

We had big plans for our days off. The weather changed everything. It has snowed for the last two days. We have done lots of walking in the snow. Seeing what we could see. Yesterday afternoon it cleared up enough to ride over to Roosevelt. Everyting is so pretty. Other wise we have had to say close to home.
