This is so good

You wouldn’t believe the prices of food/gas and lodging in Canada. Also some of the places that we are staying in, they are not the Ritz. They think nothing of asking you $150 or more a night. We don’t realize how good we have it in the good old USA.

We are now heading for the Yukon.......

Banff-Lake Louise-Jasper

What a great three days we have had.  We met up
with Bill and Mary Ann (Nancy’s brother and wife)
in Canmore just south of Banff.

For the next couple of days we played tourist.  The
Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks are just beautiful.
We went to visit Lake Moraine, know as The Valley of
Ten Peaks. This area offer dramatic photographic
opportunities.

Flowers ever were...

Than on to Lake Louise. The emerald hues and glacial
backdrop of Lake Louise have wowed visitors since 1890’s.

After a nice lunch on the terrace over looking the lake, we hiked up the Lake Agnes Trail. It is one of the most hiked trails in the area. It was 3 miles straight up-up-up to a mountain tea house. Of course we couldn’t afford a cup of tea.  (Not on our budget.)

It was straight up
for 3 miles.

Next day we explored Banff. After checking out the town
and a nice lunch at subway (in the budget), the three
gals took a tour of the Fairmont  Banff Springs Historic Hotel. What a beautiful hotel-what history. Later met up with Bill for a drive along the Bow River to the Falls.

Our first stop Glacier National Park

We drove up the east side of Flat Head
Lake.  What a beautiful drive.  We stopped
of course and get us some flat head cherries.  Yum  Yum......

Meet with some friends from Orlando
for supper in Whitefish.  After dinner
we walk around this beautiful small
western town. Lots of flowers in hanging
basket all over town.

Next day we headed to Glacier NP. We
took the free bus on the Road to the Sun
to the top of Logan Pass. After a lunch
of peanut butter crackers we take a hike to
Hidden Lake.

Good-by Yellowstone Hello Alaska

Today was our last day at Yellowstone.  What a great summer we have had. It all came to end to soon.

Off to Canada for a few days and than on to Alaska.
We left Yellowstone about 10Am and after a stop in Bozeman for gas and food for our trip, we headed down the road. We made good time and made it to Polson, MT on the southern end of Lake Flathead.

We are now sitting by the lake having a supper of popcorn and beer. Can it get any better than that.  A nice way to start our trip.

Looking forward to a wonderful time..............
