Banff-Lake Louise-Jasper

What a great three days we have had.  We met up
with Bill and Mary Ann (Nancy’s brother and wife)
in Canmore just south of Banff.

For the next couple of days we played tourist.  The
Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks are just beautiful.
We went to visit Lake Moraine, know as The Valley of
Ten Peaks. This area offer dramatic photographic
opportunities.

Flowers ever were...

Than on to Lake Louise. The emerald hues and glacial
backdrop of Lake Louise have wowed visitors since 1890’s.

After a nice lunch on the terrace over looking the lake, we hiked up the Lake Agnes Trail. It is one of the most hiked trails in the area. It was 3 miles straight up-up-up to a mountain tea house. Of course we couldn’t afford a cup of tea.  (Not on our budget.)

It was straight up
for 3 miles.

Next day we explored Banff. After checking out the town
and a nice lunch at subway (in the budget), the three
gals took a tour of the Fairmont  Banff Springs Historic Hotel. What a beautiful hotel-what history. Later met up with Bill for a drive along the Bow River to the Falls.

After a great couple of day we are on the road again
heading for Jasper NP and than west to Alaska.
